Prices include GST and assume easy access. Charged by the hour from arrival to finish. The Wairarapa is the longest local run from our Wellington base, and travel over the Remutaka Hill is charged from our base. Wairarapa moves are charged by the hour like the rest of the region, not as a fixed intercity quote. Dan talks the estimate through with you before you book.
SH2 climbs from Te Mārua and winds down to Featherston. A car does Wellington to Featherston in about an hour and Masterton in about 1 hour 40. A loaded truck is slower on the bends, and the road closes at times for crashes, slips or snow. Dan checks conditions before the truck leaves and calls you if the plan changes.
Long gravel driveways, cattle stops, soft ground after rain and a shed full of tools, fencing gear and outdoor furniture. Tell us what is in it, and whether a truck can turn at the top of the drive.
Old villas and cottages with verandas, narrow front paths and precious furniture. We wrap it and take our time, and blankets, shrink wrap and straps are part of the hourly rate.
Mostly flat towns with easy street parking. Moves inside the towns are quick. Moves between them add drive time along SH2.
A city house or flat for more land, often with a train commute on the Wairarapa Line. Most homes load in the morning and unload the same day.

We enlisted the services of Dan and his Team for our shift from storage in Palmerston North to present our property prior to going on the market in Belmont, Lower Hutt We could not praise Relocationz more highly . The shift included very fragile items and also extremely heavy items accumulated from five generational properties. We personally found the prospect of getting our 'treasures' out of storage after 10 years particularly daunting, however the "Relocationz" Team didn't blink an eyelid. They arrived in Palmerston North at 10am and the furniture had been placed in the double storied house in Lower Hutt by the end of the day. We also called on Dan and his team member to assist with reloading and stacking our container after various items had been re-packed. They also offered to take items to the Salvation Army for us, which we were hugely appreciative of as we were under a particularly tight time-frame. The property has since successfully sold and we will once again enlist the services of Dan and his Team with regard to vacant possession prior to settlement. Update 06.09.26- I have used Relocationz ltd for my 3rd move and they were great yet again! I’ve used Relocationz for both my moves now and they’ve been great each time! Speedy and reliable, a great service. The second move was done a steep zig zag path and they were so helpful and managed it without a problem! I’ve recommended them to friends and will definitely use them again when I next move. Dan and David were friendly and had great communication too!

RelocatioNZ moves homes to and around the Wairarapa, including Featherston, Greytown, Martinborough, Carterton and Masterton. Two movers and a truck cost $210 per hour inc GST, and one mover with a truck costs $135 per hour. Travel over the Remutaka Hill from the Wellington base is charged. Call Dan on 027 364 9590.

The drive is about 1 hour 40 minutes in a car and longer in a loaded truck. A 2-bedroom home is about 2 hours of loading and unloading with two movers and a 3-bedroom about 2.5, plus the drive and travel over the Remutaka Hill from our base. A lifestyle block with a full shed, or a weather closure on the hill road, can push it into a second day.
Most of the time, yes. Long gravel driveways are fine in dry weather. Soft ground after rain, low branches, tight gates or no turning space at the top can stop a truck. Send a photo of the driveway and the turning area with your quote request, and Dan will tell you the plan.
Yes, from Featherston to Masterton and out to Martinborough. Moves inside one town are quick. Travel from our base still applies, so a small Wairarapa move may cost more than the same job in Wellington.
RelocatioNZ does not carry goods in transit insurance. The crew wraps and blankets your furniture and treats it as their own, but cover for loss or damage sits with you. Check your own contents policy covers items in transit, and tell us about antiques, art or anything fragile when you book, so we can plan how to load and strap them.
