Dan runs RelocatioNZ. He's the Onsite Manager and the sales team, which means the voice on 027 364 9590 is the same person reversing the truck up your driveway on moving day. No call centre, no dispatcher, no crew who've never heard of your stairs.
Dan started out doing small moves out of a truck and built it up from there. RelocatioNZ has traded under its own name since 2020, and now covers full house moves, office and shop moves, and intercity runs the length of the country. Dan still quotes the jobs himself, and he is usually one of the people carrying your furniture.
Dan is based in Wellington, and spends most weeks moving flats and houses between Wellington suburbs, with a run up the island or across Cook Strait whenever a job comes up. Recent trips include Wellington to Nelson, Nelson up the West Coast, the West Coast to New Plymouth, and Wellington to Picton.
A small local crew
RelocatioNZ keeps the team small on purpose. Dan works with a couple of local movers when a job needs more hands, so a 1-bedroom flat gets two movers and a big house can get three. They are local movers Dan has worked with before and knows by name.
A small crew means Dan knows who's carrying your stuff. It also means he can't be in two places at once, so book early for month-end and weekend dates. He does work Saturdays and Sundays, at the same rate as any other day.

Communication
You get an estimate before you book, so the invoice doesn't come as a shock. Dan tells you what time the truck is coming and texts if traffic through the Gorge changes that. Questions go to Dan, not a generic inbox.
Care
Furniture gets wrapped in blankets and strapped in the truck. The crew checks the path, the stairs and the doorways before anything big moves. Blankets, shrink wrap and straps come as part of the hourly rate, and the crew puts down floor and door protection where a job needs it. Your walls, your floors and your nana's cabinet leave the old place the way they arrived.
Completion
The job is done when the last item is in the room it belongs in and the truck is empty. Ask when you book and the crew will put the beds and the flat pack back together too. You won't get half a move and a note saying we'll come back Tuesday.
