Moving terms and conditions

How RelocatioNZ charges, what you are agreeing to when you book, and where you carry the risk. Plain English, no small print.

How pricing works

All prices on this website include GST. GST-registered businesses get a tax invoice showing GST separately.
Local moves are charged by the hour from when we arrive to when the last item is in, with easy access at both ends. The minimum charge is one hour, and after that time is charged in 30 minute blocks.
There is no call-out fee. A 30 minute travel charge covers getting the truck to your first address. The drive home from your last address is not charged, and moves outside Wellington are charged from our base.
Stairs, long carries, no parking and packing take longer. Dan confirms your estimate before you book.
Intercity moves get a fixed price quote instead, worked out on the load, the distance and the ferry fare where one applies.
Site visits are free.

Intercity moves and larger jobs need a 50% deposit to hold the date. Intercity moves need at least one week of notice.
You can pay by bank transfer, in cash, or on invoice after the move.
Cancel within 48 hours of your booked time and 50% of the quoted move is payable.
Your invoice shows the hours worked, the hourly rate and the GST included, so you can check it against your estimate.

RelocatioNZ does not carry goods in transit insurance. The crew wraps and blankets your furniture and treats it as their own, but cover for loss or damage sits with you. That applies on the ferry as well as on the road.
Check your own contents policy before moving day. Many policies cover your things during a house move, and some will extend to it if you ask.
