All prices include GST. Charged by the hour from when we arrive to when the last item is in, with easy access at both ends. Stairs, long carries, no parking and packing take longer. We confirm your estimate before we book.

Minimum charge is 1 hour. Most single-room moves across town fit inside it when the boxes are packed and waiting by the door.

  • The street

    Aro Valley, Kelburn and Brooklyn have narrow streets with cars parked both sides. If the truck stops 80 metres away, each carry takes longer.

  • Your floor

    A room at the top of a villa's steep internal stairs, or a flat above a Cuba Street shop, adds time per trip.

  • Ready or not

    Packing while the crew waits is the fastest way to double the bill.

  • Two stops

    Dropping half your things at a storage unit and the rest at a new flat in Newtown is fine. The drive between stops counts as time.

  • Hall and building rules

    University halls and apartment blocks often set move-out times and loading spots. Send them to Dan so the truck arrives inside the window.

    We enlisted the services of Dan and his Team for our shift from storage in Palmerston North to present our property prior to going on the market in Belmont, Lower Hutt We could not praise Relocationz more highly . The shift included very fragile items and also extremely heavy items accumulated from five generational properties. We personally found the prospect of getting our 'treasures' out of storage after 10 years particularly daunting, however the "Relocationz" Team didn't blink an eyelid. They arrived in Palmerston North at 10am and the furniture had been placed in the double storied house in Lower Hutt by the end of the day. We also called on Dan and his team member to assist with reloading and stacking our container after various items had been re-packed. They also offered to take items to the Salvation Army for us, which we were hugely appreciative of as we were under a particularly tight time-frame. The property has since successfully sold and we will once again enlist the services of Dan and his Team with regard to vacant possession prior to settlement.     WOW!! Much deserved 5 stars. Dan and his team are prompt, have very clear communication and overall hard workers. I would recommend these guys over anyone else, if you want the job done properly and efficiently with no hassle, hire them. Moved an entire house just over 2 hours.

    Update 06.09.26- I have used Relocationz ltd for my 3rd move and they were great yet again! I’ve used Relocationz for both my moves now and they’ve been great each time! Speedy and reliable, a great service. The second move was done a steep zig zag path and they were so helpful and managed it without a problem! What counts as a small move?

One room in a shared flat, a studio apartment, a student leaving a hall or flat, or a load of boxes and a few pieces of furniture. If your things fit in one bedroom, it is a small move. Anything bigger, such as a full 1-bedroom flat, is priced on the flats page from $315.

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes, the minimum charge is 1 hour. For two movers and a truck that is $210 including GST, and for one mover and a truck it is $135. Time runs from when the crew arrives to when the last item is in, so a packed, ready room keeps you close to the minimum.

Can you move a student out of a hall of residence?

Yes. Check your hall's move-out date, allowed times and where vehicles can load, then send those details with your quote request. Parents booking from out of town can arrange the move by phone with Dan and pay by bank transfer, cash or on invoice.

Can two flatmates share the truck?

Yes. Two rooms going from the same flat to two different addresses is a single booking with two drop-offs. The time between stops is charged at the same hourly rate, so sharing costs less than two separate bookings. Split the bill however suits you.

Is this cheaper than hiring a van myself?

Often the gap is small once you add van hire, fuel, the insurance excess and a lost afternoon. With RelocatioNZ you pay $210 including GST for two movers and a truck for about an hour, nobody hurts their back on the stairs, and the van company's damage waiver stays out of the picture.
